Peanuts Homeless Cat Rescue

Peanuts Homeless Cat Rescue is on a mission! The goal? Aiming to reduce the suffering of homeless cats. We are striving to get as many homeless cats off the street as we can, provide vet treatment, socialise & rehabilitate where needed and find loving forever homes. If you feel you could help with fundraising, fostering or provide a loving home for one of these fur babies – we would love to hear from you!

Hello. My name is Django. I am an 8 year old boy, I will be 9 in January 2022. My mum was living in an abandoned hospital when she was pregnant with me. She was caught and had us (me, three sisters and a brother). I have been living with my current carer since I was born but it is now time to find my forever home. I love people, I want to be around them all the time. I love pats, sitting on your lap and curling up in bed with you. I am a very happy friendly cat but I’m not great around other cats . . . I have recently started being a bully and I don’t know why but I think it is because I want all the attention. I would be best suited to a house with no other cats so I don’t have to share my humans.

Hello. My name is Portia. I have been living in a colony with many other cats. I am a tiny little girl, I think I’m about 2 years old. I was very shy at first but now I follow my carer everywhere. I love pats and talk a lot especially at meal times, I love food! I love being an indoor cat, cat beds are very comfy and I love to curl up and sleep the day away. I don’t mind being around other cats.

Hello, my name is Luther and I am 6 months old. I was living on the streets of Sydney with my two brothers and sister. The place where we were living was not very nice so we were trapped by some lovely people and have been living in Goulburn ever since. I love to play with my brothers and sister and snuggle with my other friends. I enjoy cuddles with my carer love my ears being rubbed. I would be best suited to a house without curtains as I can’t help climbing them, even when I know I get in trouble.

I get on well with all the other cats here but I’m not sure about dogs, I have only met them a couple of times and they look a bit scary.

Hello. My name is Max. I could be roughly 3 years old. I was trapped on the streets of Canberra. I came from another rescue because I was not friendly at all. I have now come out of my shell with my new carer, it didn’t take too long. I really like food and laying in the sun. I love cuddling up to my carer in bed to watch movies. I do get excited when my carer comes in the room and sometimes when I’m not getting enough attention I bite her on the back of the leg, it’s not hard, I just want to let her know that I’m here. I can be a bit rough when I’m playing with you but it’s only because I am so excited. I really love pats. I get on well with most of the cats where I am but a couple of the girls I like to chase when they don’t want me to, I just want to play but they are a bit scared of me.

Max would be best suited to a home with no other cats. His new human should be on the younger side as even though his bites on the leg don’t hurt (it’s more that they startle you), it might hurt an elderly person. Apart from that, Max is the sweetest little boy.

Hello. My name is Rain. I am roughly 8 years old. I was trapped on the streets with three of my babies. I was in very poor condition, very very skinny but regular food has made me a different cat, my fur is really soft now too. I was originally very scared but I am very brave now and ask for pats. I need a home of my own as I get bullied by a couple of other cats where I am and I only come out of hiding when the humans are around so they can protect me. I love sleeping in bed with my carer when no other cats are around.

Rain has had a couple of urine infections over the years brought on by stress. She would be best suited to a house with no other cats. She also requires a bit of patience in the early days, but she is a very sweet little girl who will love you to bits given time.

Hello. My name is Kevin. I was living in a colony and was trapped for TNR. I am an elderly gentleman so was not returned to the streets to live. I am very affectionate when I get to know you, I love to sit with you while you rub my head. I have a bit of arthritis in my back leg but I get around just fine and sometimes have a little spurt where I run around like crazy for a few seconds. I get along with other cats most of the time but would prefer to be by myself. I would love to spend my remaining years sleeping, eating and generally laying in the sun on a nice day.

I like to play with a couple of the other cats where I am staying but mostly I like to stay to myself. I love sleeping the day away on the lounge or the bed.
